If you think that you know everything about Paris then I will prove that you do not know everything about it. Today I will discuss some secret places in Paris which are ignored most of the people.

Secrets of Paris

Paris is a city of more than 12 million people, 105 square kilometers, and more than 2,000 years of history. Normal therefore that it keeps more than one secret (or two, or three, or a thousand…). Secrets that are worth knowing. So since all of us, who more who less, we know the Champs Elysees, Eiffel Tower, the Place de la Bastille, and other places of interest that appear in every travel guide; let’s focus on the little hidden corners of Paris. Maybe not so well known, but certainly just as interesting…

The Forest of Vincennes

A theater, castle, lakes, tropical gardens, a zoo, and even a Buddhist temple are just some of the secrets that you will find in this place. A park worthy of the best of fairy tales, and a true oasis of the most urban Paris.

Although it was formerly for the exclusive use of royalty, it is now open to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing day. Why don’t tourists frequent it? Simply because it is a bit far from the center (And that can be reached by metro!).

Bridge of lovers

For some years now, the ‘Pont de Les Arts’ has been turning into the bridge of lovers. Dozens of padlocks decorate its railings. One for each couple who wanted to seal their love (or at least that’s the idea).

Although the possibility of removing them for aesthetic and security reasons has been discussed (so many locks weigh too much), the truth is that they are still there. And if you don’t have any on you, don’t worry: there are several stalls in your surroundings always ready to sell you one of these “tokens of love.”

The Latin Quarter

So-called because in the Middle Ages its inhabitants were mainly students who used Latin to speak among themselves. After passing the ‘Plaza de Saint Michel’, among its small streets and alleys, you will find some of the most romantic cafes and restaurants in the city (and we are not exaggerating!).

Each of them with a special charm; Cozy little treasures of Paris. One more reason for the capital of France to be considered the most romantic city in the world.

The Sainte Chapelle

Perhaps not as unknown as the rest of the places on this list; but since its neighbor ‘Notre Dame’ takes away all the prominence we have decided to include it.

Its 500 meters of stained glass of all colors and its impressive structure make it one of the greatest exponents of Gothic architecture. A curious note aside: in its day I housed Jesus’ crown of thorns and a piece of his cross. Two relics that cost more money than the chapel itself!

59 Rue de Rivoli

One of the most artistic streets in Paris. In it, you will find the Contemporary Art Center (open Tuesday and Sunday), one of the most curious places in the city. Dozens of artists live in it, and hundreds of exhibitions are presented.

In addition, and if that were not enough, you can see the studios where the artists themselves work. The most bohemian thing you will see in your life (we promise to make sure it 100%). Take a look at this site on Google images. It leaves no one indifferent!

Jules Verne Restaurant

We said it at the beginning: everyone knows the Eiffel Tower (and if not you’ve spent your whole life under a stone). What many tourists do not know is the restaurant that is located on its top floor.

‘Jules Verne’ is also one of the best restaurants in the city. It is true that their prices are not exactly cheap, but taking into account their service, food, location, and surroundings we can tell you that it is quite cheap. Spectacular views and premium French cuisine assured.

The flower market

At the exit of the ‘Cité’ metro station, you will find one of the most picturesque places in all of Paris. In this hidden corner of the city, you will not only find flowers of all kinds (and when we say of all kinds it is of all kinds: cacti, roses, palm trees, tulips … Even carnivorous plants!).

Constructed of metal structures, no one can deny that this market adds a note of color, charm, and tranquility to the bustling capital of France.

But pay attention! You should know that on Sunday the flowers give way to birds of all kinds. Which also has no waste.

I am sure you didn’t visit these places before. Do not worry next time must visit these places in Paris.
